Native plants vs feral imports

I’ve noticed a load of plants whilst out hiking that I’m sure aren’t native to SoCal or the US:

Figs, olives, various palms, banannas, hottentot figs, eucalyptus, papaya…

I wonder if the US considers invasive species the same way we treat Himalayan Balsam or Japanese Knotweed in the UK?
